Cargo Data Exchange Center, Inc (CDEC) was established in 1995 as a pioneer in Electronic Data Exchange, providing freight forwarders a gateway to submit cargo manifests to the Bureau of Customs. Since then, CDEC has been developing end to end e-commerce solutions linking logistics service providers, financial institutions, importers, manufacturers, exporters and government agencies, pushing the Philippines towards becoming a world-class trading hub.

Our mission is to foster competitiveness of Philippine businesses by providing e-commerce solutions that facilitates efficiency and productivity in trade and logistics.

RECENT ACTIVITIES ON DATA PRIVACY COMPLIANCE (updated June 2019)

CDEC Data Privacy Consent Form for Clients 

Client registration for the use of all CDEC VASP services now includes mandatory provision for Data Privacy Consent.

The Personal Data of clients that are collected, processed and stored are clearly identified in general information and billing information portion of the Client  Registration Form.  Client is fully informed that CDEC will use these Personal Data for the specific purpose of creating a user account in order to access and use CDEC VASP services,  for billing of CDEC VASP transaction fees, for contacting client in relation to customer helpdesk and support , and for client to receive advisories and notifications and circulars as registered client of CDEC.

2nd National Data Privacy Conference (23 to 24 May 2019)

CDEC Data Protection Officer attended the “2nd National Data Privacy Conference Protecting the Digital Filipino: Accountability, Compliance, and Ethics in a data-driven Philippines” held at the Philippine International Convention Center.

Data Protection Officer Summit 18: Data Privacy in the Transportation and Logistics Sector (13 September 2018)

Upon invitation of the National Privacy Commission (NPC), CDEC Data Protection Officer attended the “Data Protection Officer Summit 18: Data Privacy in the Transportation and Logistics Sector” held at the Cebu Pacific Building, Domestic Airport Road, Pasay City.

As one of the fast-growing and largest sectors in the industry, the Transportation and Logistics Sector has been handling substantial amounts of data. In the data-driven economy, protecting the data subjects’ rights should be part of services provided by businesses as mandated by the RA10173, known as the Data Privacy Act (2012). The National Privacy Commission fully recognizes the role of this sector in the day-to-day processing of personal information of Filipino citizens.

CDEC  DATA PRIVACY STATEMENT

This Privacy Statement, hereafter referred to as “Statement”, explains how we collect, protect, use, and share information when you access our websites and/or apply for and avail of our services.

This Statement outlines the general practices of  Cargo Data Exchange Center, Inc. (“CDEC”) in relation to our processes and information content which are made available through our websites.

These processes and information are in accordance with our responsibility as a Value Added Service Provider (VASP) accredited by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) and the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).

Our Privacy Practices

All information we collect as accredited VASP are either in compliance with requirements of BOC and PEZA, or for transmission to BOC and PEZA.

The ownership, confidentiality, security and disclosure of these information are in accordance with our Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and Service Level Undertaking (SLU) respectively with BOC and PEZA.

What We Collect From You

When you apply for registration to avail of electronic services that CDEC offers as accredited VASP of BOC and PEZA, we collect the information required for registration with BOC Client Profile Registration System (CPRS). In the course of using our VASP electronic services, we may collect technical, non-personal information such as those provided by your electronic device which may include the IP address, operating system, browser type and version.

We may also collect, use and keep your personal opinions or comments made known to us via feedback or responses or any other interaction that you had with our employees (Sales, Marketing and Customer Support).

How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected to deliver and provide the electronic services that you have registered to avail of as accredited VASP.

How We Protect Your Information

We ensure the confidentiality, security, integrity and availability of your information in accordance with  technological and procedural safeguards that CDEC is required to comply in accordance to SLU and NDA with BOC and PEZA.

How Long Do We Keep Your Information

Our Data Retention Policy is in accordance with our NDA and SLU with BOC and PEZA.
